YG’s Entrepreneur of the Week: G. Kofi Annan

CLICK 2 READ

This week I decided 2 chronicle my buddy G. Kofi Annan (from Ghana ;-) ). Entrepreneur Magazine did a write up on him in the December issue (on newsstands now). They got Kofi’s outlook on ways Africa can improve it’s image globally. Over the last yr I’ve been doing a project examining the potential economic benefits of investing in emerging markets & unfortunately Africa is rarely a part of the conversation. For some reason businesses believe that the B.R.I.C. (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) countries are the only viable markets for foreign direct investment. Now I’m not saying I’m for corporate imperialism, but it has been documented that trade is a suitable approach towards economic development. Luckily we have afropolitians and entrepreneurs like Kofi who are seeking 2 be at the forefront of the African Renaissance. -!YG
