My Global Hustle

I am sure that most of you have heard of Robin Thicke. ( He wrote/produced for Usher) Many of my gal pals have been telling me for months to pick up his cd. After a gal pal finally gave me a copy of the cd, I was forced give this album a proppa listen.

While listening to this gentleman’s album, I was taken aback. Mr. Thicke truly encapsulated what a R & B album should sound like…. Beautiful melodies, Exquisite song writing, and the Evocation of what LOVE through sound should feel like. Most of you might not know this about YG, but I am a SERIOUS R&B head! I am talking from Leon Ware to Marvin Gaye to now Robin Thicke…… R & B has always been my first love. I guess I am a hopeless romantic at heart. 🙂

Moving on….. I have decided to champion the push for Robin Thicke to get a Grammy. I am sure most of u r looking at the computer like he is crazy, but I got a plethora of friends who vote for the Grammys……. Be rest assured they all will be receiving phone calls from Mr. YG… 🙂

I can honestly say that “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” is the best R & B album of 2006. ( YES I said it!) Moreover, this album is my favorite R & B album since “LoveLand”. (for all my true R. Kelly fans) Despite the fact Mr. Thicke is not a brother on the outside; he is definitely one on the inside. Robin Thicke oozes soul as he hits falsetto notes that will make the hardest thug blush. All you have to do is listen to track # 4 -“Lost without You” and…..viola..

As u may know “winter boo” season is upon us. For moi…. u can be certain that a bottle of Pol Roger, the delightful company of a gal pal and “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” will be an essential part of my holiday plans…. 😉 As Mr. Thicke refrains so eloquently on track # 9…..YG needs LOVE….

As many of you know, I have been hard at work trying to get my thesis done for grad school. Last night I was not in the greatest of moods & needed a pick me up. After chatting with my dude Neky, he convinced me to “touch the town” and party it up. While listening to Too Short (my hip hop psychiatrist) talk that slick talk, I proceeded to question… Was I going stunt tonight or just keep it low-key……

While selecting my ensemble for the evening (having switched psychiatrist to Robin Thicke… track # 14…..CLASSIC!) I could not help but wonder… maybe I need to step it up a notch tonight. After getting dress and slapping on that Silver Mountain, I knew in the back of my mind what time it was… YG Time! (hey we all gotta psyhe ourselves up sometime)….lol

(despite my thirst to head back to the EU) Great people…..delightful libation…and well….beautiful ladies always make for phenomenal evening. Just another day in my life…

Unfortunately, Laurent Perrier was not on the menu this evening… So Moet had to do… At the end of the day “crushed grapes” still has power to enhance your evening.

My homegirls….Roxx and Liz having a good time at the GQ “Man of the Year” party… Bet u didn’t know I was nominated? 🙂 Unfortunately, Lupe Fiasco beat me out…..There is always next yr….

In a NY minute, the ladies and I left the GQ party and headed over to the 7 party. Funny enough, it was not as stuffy as some would say…. (DG)

World renowned chef and my buddy….Coby Farrow… ( Emeril Who?) Be on the look out for his new Cambodian Fusion restaurant opening up in LES. Can u say…… delicious food… 🙂

I love his hat… (I got 1 just like it) Mr. Freddy Lembeck. He is my new buddy… U can tell this cat has style… Is that a fanny pack? ( Dana G u were right…they r coming back) Just plain cool….. “U my main man Freddie!” Check his work in Westbeth News….

Neky & Jocelyn just kicking it… Is that “Jesus Juice” in you cup sir? Thx for calling a brother Neky….. I would have missed a fun night on the town… Ain’t Joss a “zita pie”?

The crew….. We were all “light” and the time was only 10pm…. U gotta love NYC.
