New York has seemed to turn into New Amsterdam over the past couple years with the increased amount of bike lanes popping up around the city.  If you have walked down 7th, 8th and 9th Avenue lately you have noticed a difference. The city planned to create 200 miles of bike lanes by 2009 and their plan looks to be on schedule.

Senegal pushes for domestic rice growth

This is very exciting news. One of the interesting results of an economic downturn is the need for people to find viable alternatives for survival. Where there is a will…. there is always a way.

I’m happy to see African governments taking an active role in revitalizing local industry. I’ve never understood why African nations were so bent on importing products that are readily available in their own  countries. I hope that this is a step in the right direction towards true sustainability. -!YG

High Fashion Goes Plastic: Bionic Yarn

Shout out to Tyson Toussant who with his biz partner, Tim Coombs, is making big moves with their company Bionic Yarn. Bionic Yarn uses recycled plastic and transforms them into fabric for clothes, bags, etc. Skateboard P has signed on to invest in this biz venture. Judging from my convo with Tyson be on the look out for more exciting product offerings from Bionic Yarn in partnership with ither brands. -!YG
