Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative
U want to be YG? Well the first step is to have a valid passport…. 2007 is going to be a wonderful year full of a lot of changes and challenges. One of the major changes in travel is the activation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiaive (WHTI).
The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative as of January 23rd requires U.S. citizens to have a passport for travel btn the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. So, if you were thinking about taking that trip to Mexico….your birth certificate nor driver’s lincense will be acceptable.
WHTI was spearheaed by Department of Homeland Security and State Department in an effort to make our borders “safer” from terrorism. (whatever that means….)
