El Anatsui – “Between Earth and Heaven”
I’ve gone to see this piece several times for inspiration. El Anatsui reps Ghana and is a true pioneer in Contemporary African Art. He has been a professor in Nigeria since 1975. Shout out to Jack Shaiman and his gallery for presenting 3 of El’s pieces @ the Armory Show. I really enjoyed seeing more of El’s work up close and personal. Go to the MET and see this piece. 🙂 -!YG
Update: I was reading through timeout mag and it turns out that El will be exhibition @ BRIC on March 25th to May 2nd in Brooklyn. This will be a great opportunity to see more of his work.
