John Akomfrah, Phoebe Boswell, Rashaad Newsome at Caroll/Fletcher in London
During a recent trip to London, I did a bit of gallery hopping around the city to check out some exhibitions that were suggested for me to see. One of the highlight exhibitions was a group show that I saw at Carroll/Fletcher featuring John Akomfrah, Phoebe Boswell and Rashaad Newsome.
The exhibition tethers together the interdisciplinary practices of all three of these artists in a truly remarkable way. John and Rashaad continued to impress with their contributions to the show, but I was struck by the work of Phoebe Boswell. This was the first time that I had the pleasure of seeing her work, which combines traditional draughtsmanship and digital technology to create a unique and lush visual experience. Phoebe created an installation in the lower level of the gallery that blew me away. Check out the install images below.
The exhibition is on view until April 10th, so if you are in London make sure to check it out. You won’t be disappointed. -LOM
