TechCrunch Disrupt Day 3
The final day of TechCrunch Disrupt NYC was filled with tons of heavy hitters from the tech world (i.e. Ron Conway, David Karp, Roelof Botha, and Ashton Kutcher) that rounded out 3 inspirational days of conversations, pitching and hacking. I find it amazing how much you can learn from someone else when you just take the time to “LISTEN”. I walked away from the conference invigorated and with a heighten desire to become more versed with ins and outs of the tech world.
Other Highlights
- Ben and Ken Lerer are a father and son seed investor duo who shared some great nuggets of wisdom on how entrepreneurs should approach building their business and working with VCs.
- “Over-communicate with your investors.” – This raises the level of transparency between all stakeholders.
- “Learn how to tell a great story as a start-up.”
- “Seed investors invest in people and not just ideas.”
- “Your investor should be supportive of you when things are great, but especially when things are down.”
- Limor Fried from Adafruit’s passion about getting more people interested in building things by creating unique & fun DIY electronics and kits was truly refreshing.
- Joe Lonsdale – “What are you passionate about?”
Overall, I found my experience at TechCrunch Disrupt 2013 in NYC as a truly valuable experience filled with wonderful insights and opinions. I walked away with an elevated sense of awareness about the opportunities present in the tech space. Time to throw my hat into the ring.
