Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending the opening for Jeffrey Gibson’s latest exhibition “Said the Pigeon to the Squirrel” at the National Academy Museum. Jeffrey is the first artist of the National Academy Museum’s Emerging Artist Spotlight series.
Jeffrey’s artistic practice incorporates geometric shapes and lush colors resulting in the creation of beautifully constructed abstract paintings and sculptures that draw on his Native American heritage and modernist influences (i.e. Picasso and Pollack).
Jeffrey’s ability to leverage the functionality of the objects that he incorporates into his pieces in an at times figurative manner (i.e heavy bags, iron boards and mirrors) is truly remarkable. Check out a video clip where he shares some insight into his artistic practice.
Nick Cave’s HEARD•NY was truly a life changing experience that makes you fall in love with NYC all over again. Here are some behind the scenes clips of how the whole project was pulled together. Check it out. – LOM

Earlier today, I had the pleasure to see Bonin Bough, Vice President of Global Media and Consumer Engagement at Mondelēz International, tear down the house with his presentation on how Mondelēz International is solidifying their commitment to mobile as an emerging platform to reach consumers.
From Mobile Futures – an ambitious mobile start-ups incubator designed to transform consumer engagement to their “getting to 10” initiative designed to allocate 10% of their global media buying budget to mobile, it is clear that Bough is bullish on mobile being the wave of the future.
