Movie Weekend: LUV starring Common & Michael Rainey Jr. (Directed by Sheldon Candis) #seeLUV
Happy Friday! I’m sure that many of ya’ll are trying to figure out weekend plans (if you’ve decided to skip inauguration). One thing that I like to do during long weekends is go to the movies. I had the pleasure of attending a screening for “LUV” last week and I was truly impressed by the film.
Director Sheldon Candis had me on the edge of my seat and my stomach in a knot for most of the film (I believe this is his directorial debut). Common showcases continued improvement as a thespian, but Michae Rainey Jr steals the show. Michael joins Quvenzhane Wallis as part of a promising crop of next gen. actors of color who are crushing it on the silver screen.
Overall, I enjoyed myself and I would urge you to support this indie film telling “our” story in a unique and dynamic way. Check out the trailer. – LOM (@youngglobal)
