Steve McQueen at the Art Institute in Chicago
Steve McQueen is an internationally known visual artist whose work primarily engages the moving image. For the past two decades, the British born McQueen has created a dynamic portfolio of video installations and films (i.e. Hungry and Shame) that have redefined the global artistic landscape. McQueen's oeuvre of visual art has garnered him the title of being one of the most influential artists of his generation.
Recently, McQueen hosted an opening at the Art Institute in Chicago for a retrospective featuring some of the most important video pieces that Turner Prize winning (McQueen won the Turner Prize in 1999) artists has created during his illustrious career. The opening drew over 400 of the Chicago art world's movers and shakers who all wanted to celebrate the opening of this historic exhibition.
