Recently, Milk Gallery held a wonderful event to celebrate the exhibition ‘The Wakhan Journey’.  Nadjari and Varial are two photographers who documented their journey through the Wakhan corridor in Afghanistan and presented an array of awe inspiring images taken during their trip. The raw and moving photographs illustrated a dynamic perspective of a part of the world that most of us will never get to see. In a time where the media bombards us with negative images of Afghanistan, it was refreshing to see a POV that we all can relate to. The photos of mothers, fathers, and children sharing an intimate movement with the world via photography is a true reminder of the humanity that unites us.
Hosted byÂ
Chai Modern, the live auction and fundraiser was an eye opening experience that showcased the power of photography as an art forum to stimulate dialogue around issues, people and places that are shaping our world. For more information about the project check outÂ
