Looking for something to do this weekend? Well I have the exhibition for you. Jack Shainman Gallery is currently exhibiting the photos of legendary artists and icon, Malick Sidibé.
The exhibition is an overview Sidibe’s nearly five decades of documenting post-colonial Malian culture through this his rich and colorful POV. This show combines Sidibé’s iconic studio portraits and some never been seen vintage works all under one roof. His body of work is ultimately optimistic, reflective and creates a refreshing depiction of contemporary Malian culture during 60s and 70s.
