Bring all your ancient mariner friends to this Â mixtape musical at The Sand Bar, art.party's smoky mermaid lounge where washed up sirens go to sing the blues. You might hear a tail or two of desire, unrequited love, or physical oddity.

But donâ€™t expect any Disney-sort of rosy afterglow. As all mermaids know: lifeâ€™s a beach.Â Â

art.party is diving in with the extraordinary Jeremy Bloom (Drama League Fellow 2010, La Boheme (Spoken), Walt and Emily) for a musical re-telling of Hans Christian Andersonâ€™s The Little Mermaid through the original text and songs from a diverse and talented group of songsters including: Catherine Brookman, Starr Busby, Matt Corriel, Laura Dunn, David IngberÂ , Olivia Lilley, Chris Kadis Moscato, Brian Rady, Stephanie Sherline, and musical direction by Jessica Salzinski.Â

It starts next weekend, because last-minute is more fun! (Except for buying tickets, so you should get yours now.)

The show promises to be a pearl.
