From Hiz Hands, Brendan Fernandes’ first solo exhibition in New York, investigates issues of authenticity, cultural commodification, and identity as impacted by migration and globalized economies, specifically through the sale of African masks and objects on the streets in front of New York museums and in Art in General’s neighborhood on Canal Street.Â
