“The Simple Things” By Pharrell Williams and Takashi Murakami Sells for 2 Milli
That is correct boys and girls…. This piece sold for 2 million @ Art Basel in Switzerland within the first 20-30 mins. My “spidey senses” tell me the piece was actually sold during the VIP preview of the fair. Usually highly coveted works are sold in preview to serious collectors before the fair open to the public. That would explain the sculpture “selling in 20 mins”. Odds are that is how long it took to get the paperwork signed for 2 milli. lol!.
Pharrell and Takashi selling their piece in a “drought” is one of the many reasons why I love fine art. Keeping it 100 with ya’ll, someone got “got”, but I’m sure the investment will return handsome dividends. The subjectivity of fine art is something that once you understand, you will be able to “put the game in the chokehold”. Time to set our sites on Art Basel Miami in December. 😉 -!YG
