This is a typical case of being caught between a rock and a hard place. The government has promised aide to people in rural communities in exchange for not helping the rebels, but haven’t come through. A person trying to feed their family is gonna do what they have to do. The cocaine trade is a business that has flourished for hundreds of years since the Europeans invaded Latin America.
