The $12 Million Dollar Stuffed Shark by Donald Thompson
Why does a piece of art sell for $12MM dollars? Per the suggestion of an Mr. Runyon (art advisor), I picked up this book from the Strand Bookstore to begin to answer that question. This is a great book that provideds you with the behind the scenes info about the contemporary art world.
Over the past year, I have deeply immersed myself into the contemporary art world and learned some of the ins-and-outs of the fine art community. This process has allowed me to view art in a whole new context. The $12MM Dollar Stuff Shark is a great read & will educate as to why a painting could be worth $145MM dollars in addition to teaching you about the power players in the art world. -!YG
