Shout out 2 Dasha for this one. I’m really excited 2 check out this exhibition by my fellow Ghanaian El Anatsui. The name of the piece is entitled “Between Heaven and Earth”. It is the first major contemporary African sculpture acquired by the MET, so this is history in the making. This piece refers to the West African tradition of strip-woven textiles. It specifically highlights the kente cloth made by weavers in Ghana. I’m going 2 check out the exhibition on Saturday if anyone is interested in joining me. 😉 -!YG
