Common – Finding Forever (IN STORES JULY 31st)
Well there is not much 2 say about this album. It’s the best Hip Hop album of 2007 ( so far). Sorry Clifford, but TIP vs TI vs TIP TOE vs Toe Jammin…whatever your album is called just ain’t on the level. I don’t care how many albums you bought sold, it didn’t strike me as the one! I guess all rappers are allowed 1 nervous album. I’m sure we’ll see a record or compilation from TIP by X-mas.
One thing that always impressed me about Common is his growth as an MC. Most cats hit their peak & the point of diminishing returns kicks in fast. I won’t front when he was rocking the funny man pajamas I thought it was a Reynolds, but he has proven me 150% wrong.
Finding Forever will definitely feed the soul of folks looking for GOOD MUSIC (pun intended). The album is economical @ 12 tracks (13 in the UK I believe) & full of flavor…… Check 4 my favorite track feat. Will.I.Am – “I Want You” Most of my peeps are feeling that “Southside” joint. Could ‘Ye & Common be the next Rae & Ghost? Oh…… Shout Out 2 Preemo…. “The Game” is tough! :-)  !YG
