JAZZ FESTIVALS
The other night I went 2 see my boy Teodross Avery perform at B.B. King’s. Seeing him perform made me realize how much I truly love good Jazz music. With the plethora of nonsense coming out in other genres of music, Jazz has always been relatively steady. Besides the period when Kenny G was on top….. Jazz has been A… OK. I’ve had the opportunity 2 travel 2 a lot of festivals &Â always had a blast. Here are some of the most notable Jazz Festivals going on this summer… 🙂

Northsea Jazz Festival – Rotterdam, NetherlandsÂ
July 13-15th
 Now in it’s 31st year, the North Sea Jazz Festival is Europe’s premier Summer event. The line-up for this year features artist from Roy Hargrove 2 Snoop Dogg and promises 2 be a memorable experience. More Info: North Sea Jazz Festival Â

Montreux Jazz Festival- Montreux, Switzerland
July 6th-21st
Montreux is probably the best Jazz Festival in the world. Located in my third favorite country (Swiss), Montreux continues to raise the bar year after year. JVC Jazz Festival- Newport Rhode Island
August 10th-12th
JVC has been credited as being the first Jazz Festival in the US of A. Started back in 1954, this Festival has grown 2 legendary proportions over the years. This year greats like B.B. King and Al Green will serenade you with classic tunes. More Info: JVC Jazz FestivalÂ

Montreal Jazz Festival- Montreal, Quebec
June 28th-July 8th
This year marks the 28th year of this fantastic festival… If you have never been 2 MTL…. U R missing out… 🙂 This is a festival that I actually might try 2 attend. The MTL Jazz Festival will feature such artists like Femi Kuti and Harry Connick Jr just 2 name a few. 🙂 More Info: MTL Jazz Festival

Essence Music Festival – New Orleans
July 5th-7th

August 31st- September 3rd
 A little bird told me that this was the largest FREE Jazz Festival in North America!  Regina Carter, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck Quartet, and Medeski are a few of the artists that will be performing this year in The “D”. More Info: Detroit Jazz Festival
