Charlie Wilson’s War
I just finished reading this book and wow! Charlie Wilson was a true beast in Congress. If U wanted 2 see the genesis of the “War on Terror” this is the book 2 read. This book highlights the US/CIA’s involvement with aiding the mujaheddin in their jihad against the Soviet Union in the 80’s. This was a 10 yr conflict, which cost billions of US taxpayer dollars. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Tom Hanks, Phil Seymour Hoffman, & Julia Roberts are turning this book into a movie. It should be a good look…. I really hope that they can do the book justice.
